==================================================================
On 10/04/96 at about 11:00 P. M. I was eastbound on Greenhill Rd. and
noticed the lights were flashing red long before arriving at the
intersection of Hwy 58. I was almost at a complete stop at the
intersection when I noticed a silver truck traveling west on Greenhill
Rd. through the intersection. It looked like it was traveling fast and
did not look like it was going to stop at the flashing red lights. I
thought at first the driver of the truck was going to turn south onto Hwy
58, but his may be because he was trying to avoid the navy blue car. It
looked to me like the driver of the silver truck had no control of the
vehicle. I saw the navy blue car traveling south on Hwy 58 and thought
the silver truck would try to avoid it. I then saw the silver truck
collide with the driver side of the navy blue car and then saw both
vehicles doing a bunch of donuts before coming to a rest in the ditch. I
looked down at the clock of my car and saw that it was 11:02 P.M. While
seeing the collision, I still had not come to a complete stop. I then
stopped my car and called 911 from my cellular phone. As I was on the
phone, the two people in the silver truck got out. I saw a man get out of
the driver's side and he was wearing a purple and black jacket. A woman
got out of the passenger side. She could not stand up and was staggering
all over. The man had to hold her up by her jacket. She at one time sat
down in the middle of Greenhill Rd. I told them to come over by my car so
they would not get hit by traffic. When I saw the woman I thought it
looked like she was in total shock. When they got to my car they both
sat down on the median. The man was explaining to me that they were
having trouble with his wifes' mother and that they weren't paying
attention. The man also said "I guess it's our fault." At this time a
black male who also witnessed the accident has hollering to me to come
help and saw that the front passenger was trying to get out of the car.
I knelt down by the front seat passenger to try and calm her down. She kept
saying "where are my friends" and "why won't they talk to me" and "what
happened?" She also asked "are we in trouble?' and "was it our fault?"
She also asked me about her teeth and wondered where they were. I asked
the girl in the back seat if she was O. K. but she didn't answer me. She
was huddled up in the corner of the seat and I could not see her face but
I could tell she was breathing because she was shaking. The lady who was
the passenger in the silver truck came running over to me and asked me if
the girls were going to be O. K. She then returned to the median. I

didn't say anything to the driver but I heard her moaning. There was an
old man in this 60's knelt down by the driver. He stayed with her for a
little bit but when police arrived he got in his car and left. When the
police and ambulance arrived I went over and stood on the median with two
other witnesses. While standing on the median, I didn't hear the man or
the woman from the silver truck say anything but she was sobbing
hysterically.
